Goals
Multicultural Centre
To establish a Multicultural Centre in County Monaghan and to achieve greater Integration of new communities in their localities in County Monaghan. To Increase the levels of engagement between statutory service providers and members of new communities
Diversity Awareness
Increase the numbers of migrants and asylum seekers accessing employment in County Monaghan. To achieve greater diversity awareness and acceptance among staff in customer facing roles through the County.
Education and Workshops
4 x events to educate new communities on culture, customs and life in Ireland.4 x orientation workshops: preparing asylum seekers and refugees to live independently, e.g. housing, entitlements, utilities and employment services.
Skill Development
Communication and language barriers, improving English language and computer skills. Learning Irish work customs. Raising motivation and self-confidence
Jobs and Interview Preparations
CV preparation, job seeking, job applications and interview skills. On the job induction support. Employer linkages and access to work experience
Career Guidance
Support to get qualifications recognized in Ireland. Career guidance to access necessary industry specific education/training courses.20 migrants supported into new employment per year.
